A YEAR OF PROGRESS

-+ —: NEW ZEALANDERS' ASSOCIATION . ';■; The Maorilanders' (New Zealanders) Association, Wellington, has just completed a year of substantial progress, and the indications are that the coming year will be attended with even more satisfactory results. ■:; The unfortunate experiences of the association (for which the present' officebearers were in no way responsible) after its formation have now been overcome, and with general and social accounts in credit, and its activities increasing, and .gaining I more general recognition, the future prospects are bright indeed. The executive committee, particularly ■ the lady members, have worked indefatigably, and to them great credit is due. The cabaret night was a financial success,' despite most unfavourable weather, and many requests have been received to repeat: it. One of the association's slogans is "Advance New Zealand: Buy Ne-\y Zealand Goods," and the practical efforts of the New Zealanders' Association in this connection have been the means of- existing the support of many prominent 'Uusinesrf men and other citizens. Requests have been received for the opening of branches of the association in several provincial centres, aiul already steps have been taken in this direction. Mr". ■W: H. P.' •Barber,/'president of the New Zealand Woollen, Manufacturers' Atsociation, is now patron of the New Zealandevs' •■ Association. The annual meeting will be held next Wednesday. Details are advertised in this issue.
