! The New Plymouth track was in good iirder this morning for the work-outs, though still a little on the slow side. All the fast work^ as 'usual, took place on the outside of the'course proper.

, Melissa and Miss Chatter were the first out, but were restricted to easy work on the inner. The former pulled hard, and seemed anxious to go faster. _. Tangaroa was in front of Green Patch at the conclusion of a two-furlongs' sprint in 29sec. : Nimblefoot had .a length and a-half advantage over Just John at the end of a mile and a-quarter, in 2min 31see. Nimblefoot is working well. . ..Te Atiawa led Annoyer for three furlongs of a nix-furlong go, but the latter ran right away from him in the straight, and completed the distance in lmm 24sec. Huirangi Girl and Lady June went a mile and a-quarter, the last mile taking lmin 58sec. Orapai and Lady Zulu were together all the way over five furlongs in lmin 9see', both doing well. Potency and Waitaunaha we*e respon-

siblo for the best ;milo of the morning, leaving the distance behind in lmin 55seo. Easter Time, by himself, moved very nicely' over three furlongs in 42 2-ssec. Moerangi gave' another good exhibition over two rqunds of the fences.

Koyal Finance was well clear of Crenuatown at the end of five furlongs in lmin 9sec. Both moved well, but the distance was too short for the latter.

Lady Quex strode over half a mile at a little better than tlnee-quarter pace.
