BRITISH SAILORS' SOCIETY.
A most enjoyable evening was spent by a very large number of seafarers at the rooms of the British Sailors' Society on Wednesday, when an entertainment was given by Mr. A. Edmonds and party. Songs, elocutionary numbers, steel guitar and banjo items were given and the encores demanded testified to the popularity of the items. At the conclusion, a vote of thanks tendered to Mr. Edmonds and party by the secretary was carried by acclamation. Refreshments were served by tho young ladies of the society, and the evening bi-ougth to a close with the National Anthem. Items were contributed by Mesdames Metcalfe and Kenny, Misses Violet Roberts, M. O'Con-
nor, Jean Falls, Keeble, and J. OfConnor, Messrs. Edmonds, L. Bevan, M. Tonks, Saul, and Mrs. Kenny's Steel Guitar and Banjo Trios. Miss Keeble, Mrs. Metcalfe, and Mr. C. Sander were the accompanists.
