Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Cooke, Halswell street, aro spending a short holiday at Paraparaumu. Miss Sheila Todd, Glasgow street, and Miss Moya Hegarty, Gisborne, who has been her guest, left to-day for a visit to the Chateau, Tongariro. Lady Anne Walpole, only daughter of the Earl and Countess of Orford, who has been spending a week at the Chateau, Tongariro, left on Saturday for Rotorua, accompanied by Mrs. Oakes. Miss Joyce Powdroll, Hawera, is the guest of Mrs. M. J. Goodson, Kelburn. Miss Joan Owen, Hastings, is the guest of Miss Mary M'Bvcdy, Wellington. Mrs. Noel Koake, Christchurch, will arrive in.Wellington next week for a short "visit.'"'" Gillespie, Levin, is tho guest of hri sister, Mrs. E. L Evans, at Lower Hutt.
Mr. and Mrs. A. _'. Claik, Kaiti, Gisborne, are visitors to Wellington at present. Miss M. Griffin, who has been visiting Wellington, has returned to Westpoit.
Mis. A. Bunny, Ma.teiton, is the guest ot hei daughtci, Mrs. M'Minn, at' Island .Bay.
The final of the "±ox-trot" competition held by tho Melrose Social and Spoits Club at the Meliose Hall was judged by Miss Margaret O'Connor. The.winners .were Miss Iris Nicholl and Mr.' Jack -Moyriihan.
