Pressure has remained high in tile North, and has risen In Southern New Zealand since yesterday afternoon, when a slight depression was crossing the South Island. Light southerlies have ruled in North Auckland, while elsewhere winds have been mainly north-west or west, moderate generally, but freshening at times during last night from Cook Strait southwards. Showers have fallen in the western and southernmost portions of the South Island, and were still reported this morning at places in those districts, but in all other parts of tho Dominion the weather has been fair to fine, and temperatures have continued to be mild everywhere.
