At Forest Hills, in the women's national tennis championships on Monday, Miss Betty Nuthall (England) "defeated Miss Louise M'Farland (California), 6-0, 6-1. Miss Catherine Wolf (Indianapolis) defeated Mrs. K. J. Sherber (England), 7-5, 6-4.
In the Newport casino tennis tourney, first round, Harrison Coggeshall (Dcs Mbines) deflated L; A. Godfree (England), 6-3, 6-3. Tilden passed tho first round through default, and in the'second, though suffering from a hip injury from the last week, defeated Ellsworth Vines (California), &-7, 6-2.
In the second round, E. B. Avery (England) defeated Harry Plymire (California), 6-3, 7-5.
At Eye, in the Eastern grass court tennis final, Sutter defeated Mangin, 4-6,8-6,7-5,4-6,0-1. :
