BRIDSON SWIMS WELL

(Received 18th August, 8 a.m.) HAMILTON, 16th August. | In the 400 yds free style swimming race, Ryan's time was 3min 49 4-ssec. Bourne did not gain, a place. G. Bridson (New Zealand) shot into prominence late in the race, and finished second, a foot ahead of G. Burleigh (Canada). These two raced side by side until the full distance was covered, [The time credited to Ryan is obviously incorrect if the distance was 400 yards. It ■would most likely be 4min 49 4-ssee.j
