GOVERNOR'S MESSAGE
SYMPATHY IN MISFORTUNE
REPLY PRAISES CAPTAIN 'AND.' CREAY Their Excellencies, the Governor-Gen-eral and Lady Bledisloe, dispatched the following radio message to Captain A. T. Toten, master of the Tahiti:— . Deeply concerned at misfortune to your ship. Please accept and convey to pasengcrs, officers, and crew ' sincere sympathy of Her Excellency and myself in anxious and trying . experience through which they are passing.—(Sgd.) Bledisloe. The following reply, timed Sunday, 11.16 p.m., was received by Their Excellencies from the Tahiti's passengers: Governor-General, Wellington.— [ the passengers of the ship deeply I appreciate your Excellencies' kind ' sympathy on their behalf, and know | that you will rejoice with them in ! realising that owing to the magnificent devotion to duty shown by the commander and entire ship's company safety is now assured. —(Sgd.) j Passengers, Tahiti.
Captain Toten replied as under:— On behalf of ray officers and crew, I have to thank your Excellencies for kind sympathy.—(Sgd.) Toten, master.
