ALTHOUGH SOME SHOWEES Owing to a shallow cyclone crossing in tho South on Saturday night and the arrival since then of an equal shallow depression, somewhat changeable weather conditions have prevailed over the week-end. A fine Saturday was the general rule, except in western districts, whoro isolated rain was experiencod. During Saturday night, howover, rain became fairly general, and since then falls hay© occurred in most districts. A few places in the North Island had heavy falls last night, Bast Cax^e recording 161 points of rain. Tempera turos Lava remained mild and spring-like, with northerly breezes, This morning the wind was moro westorly, south-westerly in tho Far North, and tho weathor was mostly fair again except in tho Far North and South.

Auckland's weather on Saturday was fine, but during tho night became unsettled and boisterous. Heavy showers accompaniod a strong . northerly wind. Sunday was a dull day and further showers feU ut night. In Wollington fair weather on- Saturday was followed by a showery night. Dull weathor with light rain at times was experienced on Sunday. Winds woro northerly and temperatures mild. Christchurch had a perfect spring day yesterday following on an overcast Saturday. Fine weather prevailed in Dunedin over tho week-end, there being rather moro cloud yesterday afternoon.

Tho forecast is for north-west to south-west winds, moderate in strength for tho most part, but strong at times about Foveaux SUv.it, Pair woatlier as a wholo may bo expected, although scattered showers are not improbable in western and far southern districts. Temperatures will bo moderate.
