THISTLE V. SWIFTS. At Kilbirnie, Thistle and Swifts attracted a fair attendance. Weather? conditions -were all that could be desired, .when the following teams lined upif ' Thistle.—Fletcher; Hopper, Montgom* cry; Whyte, Lothian, Arbuthnott; M'lel2an, Farquaraon, Gray, Cunningham, Jones. Swifts.—Forbes; Longbqfctom, Hillock; Btoomfield, Dainty, Bradford; Kelly, Adams, M'Donald, Dickson, Gibson. From the kick-off Thistle took command, and were two iip in almost as many minutes. Cunningham drew, first blopd with an easy goal, and Jones, meeting a cross from M'telian, put his side '■ further ahead. (2-0). After a effort by Dickson, Adams found Fletcher at home, and Thistle backs kept $\ky in Swifts' territory. Good work by Forbes held the opposition for a while, till'Arbuthnott added No. 3,from a welltaken corner. On top of this CunninglaLtn foundthe net again, following pretty ajmbinatioa with his Tring man. (4rO). scores, which were, at the interval: Thistle, 4; Swifts, 0. On the resumption, Dickson was prominent; and reduced the leeway by netting from the rebound when M'Donald connected with the cross-bar. (4-1.) Montgomery, who had changed places with Gray, walked through tho defence to I score rather easily. (S-l.) Kelly put in a couple o£ good runs on the wing, FletI cher saving in great style. A low shot I from' M'Donald, however, found the corner of the net. (5-2.) Tho Bine quintette now provided some neat short passing and kept Forbes busy. Bradford cleared strongly on several occasions, but Farquarson, during ft determined assault, was rewarded with a snap at goal. (0-2.) Thistle continued to hold the Tipper hand, but though hovering round Fovbes's charge, seemed content to weave patterns till-the final whistle, the scores being: Thistle, 0;Swifts,\2. Mr. T. Williams was the referee.
