HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Tho House of Bepresentatives met at 2.30 p.m. to-day. . The question of a breach of privilege was raised by Mr. W. E. Barnard (Labour, Napier) when- lie asked that a statement, reported in the "Napier Daily Telegraph," be read. The statement was taken from a report of the proceedings of a Hospital Board meeting and was headed-"Deliberate Lying," "Not Playing Cricket," and in it strong critipism was made of a statement by Mr. Barnard by a member of the board. ■ The Prime Minister agreed that the statement was a reflection on the. member for Napier and tho House, of Kepresentativos, and he moved that the editor and publisher of the paper and the person responsible for the statement sljould bo asked to make an explanation. . This was agreed to after discussion.
