"WITHIN TEN YEARS"
ANOTHER BRITISH TEAM
Speaking ■at a valedictory function to-day, at which members of the British Rugby team were presented with mementoes of the tour, Mr. James Baxter, the team's manager, gave an assurance that another British team would probably visit New Zealand within the next ten years.
Mr. Baxter's remarks were made in reply to Mr. S. S. Dean, chairman of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union, who, in referring to the undoubted success of the tour just'ended, said that he hoped Britain would not allow: another 22 years to elapse before a side again visited New Zealand. Mr. Dean considered an interval of ten years suilieient, as it allowed a new generation of footballers to come into prominence. Apart from the football aspect, the tours did a great amount of good in bringing the Dominions and the Motho.r Country closer together.
