GREAT DAMAGE TO VILLAGE

VANCOUVER, 13th August A message from Masson (QuebeS) states that fire on Wednesday afternoon destroyed fifty buildings in'this small village, making a hundred and fifty families homeless. The damage is estimated at a quarter of a million dollars. One woman died of heart failure : caused by excitement. Two children \ ,are missing, but are believed to ba f safe. The buildings destroyed includ- ■ ed a Cotholic Church and Convent, th« *.. Town Hall, and school.
