LLYN DHU COMES OUT BEST
As a Grand National Hurdles trial Llyn Dhu-outshone Zippor in the Trial Hurdles at Riccarton yesterday. A. M'Donald i.ode Llyn Dhu very confidently, keeping him well, back in the early part. He was up with the vanguard at the • last fence, and from that point stayed on just too well for.Paris, who threw out a desperate challenge. Zippor, trying to race out in front with Deluge, did not jump two fences well, and was beaten half a mile from home. It was a disappointing performance, but he pulled hard ana might have done better if permitted to ran along in the first mile. Gay Fashion put up an excellent display for .a huntei' ridden by an inexperienced boy. Deluge led round for a mile from Zippor, Gay Fashion, Paris, and Llyn Dhu, Rigoletto dropping back through faulty jumping and Exide falling at the mile post fence. Gay Fashion, Deluge, Paris, Llyn Dhu, and Zippor were in close order at the last fence. Llyn Dhu asserted himself in the 'run-in,.bnt had to be ridden out t<j l»eat Paris by: a long head.- Gay Fashion jrae half a length away third with .Deluge mi Zippo* nest.
