PETONE SHOPPING MONTH
To demonstrate that "Petone sells it for less", tho shopkeepers of the town are making special efforts towards the end of shopping month and residents of other districts should find a visit to Jackson street well worth while. ■ Every day tins week some interesting competition will be held. --To-morrow will be the biggest day. The shopkeepers will have a win-dow-dressing competition, the iirst prize being a cup valued at £10 10a. There is also a special prize, a silver cup worth £5 ss. ..On Thursday eveniug there will be a great fancy dress procession in Jackson street.. The ...first prize in this event is a £2 '2s order on any Petone firm, donated by "The Evening Post." Second and third prizes are trophies valued at £1 Is and 10s 6d'respectively. Baucis and a confetti uuel streamer battle will enliven the proceedings. Friday's event is a baby show, which will bo judged by Dr. and Mrs. .7." P. Dnuuld. 'On Friday evening several prominent citizens will parade Jackson street as previously, each carrying a ten shilling cash order in bis pocket.
