CLAY BIRD SHOOTING
The annual general meeting of-the Hutt Valley. Gun Club' was~ held recently, the president (Dr. G.1 F." V.-. Anson)'presiding over a large attendance of members. Tha annual report and balance-sheet disclosed a very successful.year,-the most'outstanding feature being the ■ support of outside clubs to the open shoot in July. The club championship was Yon by C. G. Pearce; the Tisdall Cup by F. Ranish; tho Jameson Cup by H. Smith, and the ■ Darrell Cup by A. Y. Swanson. Other, trophies were won b^ Mrs. Anson, Dr. G. F. V. Anson, Dr. P. F. M'Evedy, J. Cave, A. Dennison, W. J. H.JElaase, A. Scott, J. Skippage, and F. Triplow. , The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—Patron, :Mr. S. Scofct; president, Dr. G. F. V. Anson; vice-presidents, Messrs. D. Jameson, H. Smith, and T.-Skippage; club captain, Mr. C. Moore; secretary, Mr. C. G. Pearse; treasurer, Mr. W. J. H. Haase; executive, president, secretary, treasurer, cltib captain, and Messrs. L. 'A. Caldwell, J. Cave, H. H. Morris, H. Smith, and S. Tisdall; handicapper and referee, Mr. E. Perry. Tho official opening of the season will take place next Saturday afternoon, when two fifteen-bird matches for trophies mid a ten-bird double rise sweepstake will comprise the afternoon's programme. An invitation is extended to all interested in trap shooting to be the guests of the club at the opening shoot.
