CO-OPERATION ON YANGTSE
RED THREAT TO HANKOW
British Official Wireless. (Kceeived 11th August, 11 a.m.) KUGBY, 10th August. Extremely uncertain and unsettled conditions persist iii a large part af Ohiua, and unofficial messages report a further advance towards Hankow of tho Communist bandit forces which recently sacked Changsha. Foreign Powers with interests in that Yangtso port have taken full precautions to deal with any emergency that may develop. Britain, Japan, the United States, and Prance have all war vessels in the river and are iv close and satisfactory contact in readiness for whatever action the situation may require. Although the British concession at Hankow was given up four years ago, there are still la'gp British trade interests in the city, which is about tho size .of Liverpool, Japanese and American interests are also considerable.
