LECTURES FOR PARENTS.
The local Young Men's Christian Association is investigating certain of the problems confronting the boy life ot the city. Two of the problems which have emerged so far are the lack of understanding, and the' right type-of leadership on the part of adults. In this connection, in order to be of service to the parents of boys, the Boys' Division of the association is commencing a series of talks and discussion oil "Problems. Which Confront Parents." These meetings will commence at the V.M.C.A. on Wednesday next, 13th August, at 8 p.m. Mr. A. E. Campbell, M.A., Dip. Ed., Assistant Lecturer of Education at the Victoria University College, will introduce the subject of "The Boy—knowing, understanding, and influencing him." This introductory talk will be followed successively every fortnight by lectures on "The Boy and his Home," by Professor W. H. Gould, M.A., "The Boy and his Leisure," by Mr. P. Martin-Bmith, M.R., LL.B., Dip. Ed., '"Che Boy and his Sex Life," by Rev. J. R. Blanchard, 8.A., "The Boy and his Job,"' by Mr. A. A. Kirk, 8.A., Vocational Guidance Officer, Technical College, "The Boy and his Church," by Eev. E. D. Patcliett. These meetings are open to all parents, witlout any charge. Particulars may be obtained from either the general secretary ov the boys' work secretary of the local- V.M.C.A.
