(By Telegraph.—i'ress Association.) WANGANUL 9th August. Wanganui, fielding a weak team, managed to secure a win from the North Auckland touring team by IS points to 6. At the commencement, North Auckland had the better of the game and were the first to r score, Cheerington sending out to Sellara on the wing and the latter passing infield for Wells to cross. There was no change in the score at half-time.
Wanganui came to light in the second spell. First Morgan landed a "pot." The forwards then set up a strong attack, and after a struggle on the line Duncan got over. The try was converted by Morgan. Wanganui 9, North Auckland 3. Off-side play in front of the goal brought a penalty and Morgan sent the ball over bar. 12-3. Wanganui continued with attacking movements, loose forward rushes, and Simpson completed a good exhibition of passing by scoring near the corner. The kick failed. 15-3. The final score of the match came to North Auckland, Sellars sending a penalty kick over the bar. The result was:—Wanganui, 15 points; North Auckland, 6 points.
