Most of the horses with engagements this week were out, but while some sprinted on the outside of the trial grass, -which was holding, many did pace work on the sand. Havering ran five furlongs, taking 56 4-osec for the last half mile, but he was nr i extended. Adventus and Blimp covered sis furlongs in lmin 20sec. Semper Paratus was slightly in front of -Fall Feather at-the. end of half a mile, in 55sec, a journey which Brumal xovcred alone in 54 4-ssec. Disrank was sent out to school, but refused twice at the first hurdle. Bulolo : sprinted half a mile up the back in 53 4-ssec, Subdivision and Battle Colours following in 54sec, Aberfeldy occupied lmin 58 2-ssee over an easy mile. ■■■•'•. .„ , Staghuntcr and Best Friend were as- . soeinted over sis furlongs in ; lmin 21see, the last half mile taking : 55see. Staghunter heia his mate all the way, and it was a smart gallop. Gustavo and Hounslow did . half a mile -in 55sec. . . . ■ Diana's Lad and Aurora Boroalis were schooled over eight .steeplechase fences. The former ran off at the second of the double the first time! but otherwise gave a good display, while Aurora Borealis cleared each obstacle without any effort. Mangani and Mountain Guide did pace work on- the sand, Badiac following them alone. Mister Gamp was given a working gallop of one round, rattling down the straight. Taboo and Topere ran half a mile comfortably in 57sec. Oharmeuso and Sleipner dashed over half a 'mile up the back in 52 4-ssec. They carried light weight, but it was a smart gallop. Akbar gave a good exhibition of .jumping in loading Bladon over four hurdles. • Lord Eanald and AVharncliffe- went twice round on the sand. Snowfall, moving freely, was held back to Kulrango over a mile and a quarter. Delugo jumped four hurdles well. Charlatan gavo one of his usual good displays once round the fonces. . Coracroff did easy pace work. Llyn Dim, who may not be a starter in the Trial Hurdles, did easy work. Barriugtori and Gay Fashion covered a. milo in lmin 08 3-ssee, a performance equalled by Nukumai, who was going.well. The Kaidcr did five furlongs very easily. Toxcuma ran five furlongs in lmin Ssec, without being excited. Paris jumped two hurdles and Taramoa three fences, but their displays were moderate. Matu galloped half a mile and pulled up well. Fine Acre was kept to paco work. Omeo was an absentee from the track yesterday morning. He was all right on Saturday, but when his box was opened yesterday his near hind leg was found to bo filled, the result of a . cut. Under veterinary attention and careful treatment, he was much improved in tho afternoon, and is. still better to-day, when he was given walking and trotting on .t. lead. His connections still hope to be able to start him in tho Grand National, but his | prospects are not bright, as he is still' sore. I .Matu was not worked yesterday. Ho is suffering from a, bruised foot, which hns necessitated .treatment1. His condition had improved yesterday, .afternoon, and he gsdloped half a milo this morning. If ho goes on all right be is
