Police cases in the Magistrate's Court to-day were dealt with by Mr. W. H. Woodward, S.M. One first offender i'or drunkenness was fined ss, and two others, who did not appear, were each fined 10s.
Sydney Arthur Stringer, aged 28, was fined 10a for being drunk, and £2_ for committing a breach o£ his prohibition order.
Remands until 20th August were granted in the cases of Bay Claude Butler, a salesman, aged 28, Robert Henry Lovelle Draper, a manufacturer's representative, aged 42, and James M'Luren, a labourer, aged 24, -who are appearing on forgery charges. Hail was granted '" *ne accused*) own bonds of £100 each and sureties of. £100 cadi. They are to report daily to the police! Charged with using a shop at 50, Ghnznee street, us a common gaining house, August Ujahiuir Peterson, a bootmaker, aged 30, and Thomas Quin. a morehant, aged 3. ri, were remanded until Monday next.
