CANBERRA, This Day. j Tho Tariff Board, in its annual report, emphasises that the only hope of maintaining the flow of Australian exports is by a reduction ill tho general level of production costs. It is impossible to escapo the conclusion that the costs of some industries could be materially reduced if there were greater co-operation between employers and employeos in securing increased output. Moreover, tin? distribution .costs are excessive in many instances. The rationalisation of industries by a further merging of manufacturing interests is most essential. Tho board is convinced that Australian secondary industries could be greatly expanded under existing tariff conditions. •
