MEMBERS' SPECIAL MEETING
Resolutions passed at the annual meeting on 29th April last were confirmed at a special meeting -' o£ the Port Nicholson Amateur Road Cycling Club (Inc.), held in the club's rooms last evening. The chairman, (Mr. H. D. Bennett) said that the cliib ■ had been advised by its .solicitor that before it .could proceed to take certain action it was necessary, becuusc of the complications that had arisen as a result of the annual meeting, that certuin resolutions should be submitted to members for confirmation. On the motion of Mr. W. Sutherland the election of officers appointed at the annual meeting,''the affiliation of the club with the New Zealand Union of Cyclists, and the motion passed at the annual meeting that the club should secede from the control of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association were confirmed. The action of members iv having the club incorporated under- the Incorporated Societies Act, with the consequential alteration in the club's rules, was confirmed, and it was also agreed that Mr. J. Stalker nhould be removed from the position of one of the trustees of the club's funds invested in the Post Oflice Savings Bank, and that Mr. Sutherland should be appointed as a co-trustee with Mr. Bray in place of Mr. Stalker. Alter the special meeting an ordinary meeting of the club was hold to consider the advisability of holding a race through the Moonshine Valley on'Saturday'week. Mr. W. Bray said that several of the club members had been over the course .since the race was lirst considered, and the road was a little tricky. However, if riders would take proper precautions the: course would be safe. Jt was decided to hold the race and to make it a handicap event. After business had been concluded, the remainder of the evening was spent iv a social way. The entertainment included the screening of an interesting series of films of competitors in races held by the club. Supper was served.
