BREACH OF DRUG ACT
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, This Day. In the Police Court this morning Frederick Valentine, a veterinary practitioner, was fined £5 on a charge of giving a prescription for a dangerous drug tincture of opium, for purposes other than animal treatment, and was convicted and discharged on a further similar charge/ - - Mr. Harper, S.M., dismissed-a charge of failing to keep a proper register of all transactions in relation to the disposal of tho drug, pointing out that there was a doubt as to whether- ■ the accused dispensed the drug from his own premises. ' ■ Tho evidence showed that tho accused had used 72 ounces of tincture of opium in the form of fomentations for the treatment of trouble with his knee.
