TO-DAY'S FIXTURES
To-day's community singing was conducted by Mr. Albert Russell, whose infectious good humour did much to drive away the gloom engendered by the weather, and he was assisted at the piano by Mr, H. Brusey. The organ recital was given by Mr. Brußey. He included in his programme Boellmann's "Suite Gothiquo," Wolstenholme's "Answer," a "Choral 'Prelude on the tuno 'St. Peter,' " by Harold Darke, "Caprice in G Minor," by Grackel, and "Study," by Kink.
This afternoon's chamber concert in the Y.W.C.A. Hall introduces :i programme of vocal, piano, and violin items which should liavo a wide appeal. To-night's orchestral and choral concert in the Town' Hall is one of the best of the week's series. The Wellington Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Mr,
John Bishop, plays the popular overture to Wagner's "Tannhauser," and may te depend-* upon to male* the most of this inspiring music. They follow with Schubert's so-called "Unfinished Symphony,'.' which has a host of friends. After tho interval, Mr. Bishop takes charge of the Eoyal Wellington Choral Union, which will sing parts I. and 11. of "Hiawatha," with which they made such a hit some time ago. The soloists will bo Miss Helen Gard'jier (soprano), Mr. Edwin Dennis (tenor), and Mr. William Watters (baritone).
