LONGER LEAVE
AUSTRALIAN TENNIS TEAM
So long as it docs not cost, the L-.T.A. of Australia anything, Hopman and Willard may remain in Germany until the end of tho German championships, and that is what they propose to do, says the "Daily Pictorial." The hon. secretary of tho L.T.A.A. (Mr.. Harlcy Malcolm) explained to-day that the arrangement with the Davis Cup team was that the members should come home immediately they were finished at Wimbledon,.but if they found anything to keep them there at no expense to the L.T.A.A.- they could remain. - \ Hopman and Willard had obtained permission to go to Germany at no expense-to the L.T.A.A. Since Wimbledon they had made between £200 and £300 in Britain, and they would make another £.200 or £300 in Germany. "It should not eosV. them £600 to live that short while," added Mr. Malcolm. '' Everything is in order, and we expect that Hopman and Willard will stay in Germany until the end of the championships there."
