TO-DAY AND TO-MORROW
At 12.30 p.m. to-day Mr. C. W. Kerry delighted those present at the Town Hall with Iris playing of the organ. ■ The programme-included "Alia Mareia," (Higgs), "Andante . Eeligioso" (Otto Barblan), "Pastorale" (Mignan), "Legend and Final Symphonique" (Guilniant),- "Cradle S.ong" (Kerry), and "Overture in X Minor" (Morandi). Between these items Mr. .Binet Brown, carried out the task of leading the ' community singing, Mr. Kerry assisting at the piano.
This afternoon the first of the series of chamber concerts is being given in the Blue Triangle Hall, Boulcott street. A programme of exceptional merit is being played.
To-night's concert in the Town Hall is a choral one. It will be provided by the Wellington ' Harmonic Society, conducted by Mr. IF. Temple White; the Commercial Travellers and Warehousemen's Male Voice Choir, conducted by Mr. J. Bishop; and the Orpheus Musical Society, conducted by Mr. Harison' Cook. Part-songs and cantatas will be their offerings, and some exceedingly attractive items figure on the , programme. ; The Philharmonic String Orchestra, conducted by Mr. J. Bishop, will also take part. Its contribution consists of two very pleasing items, and the orchestra will also support Mr. and Mrs. Eric Meier, the violinists, in their playing of Bach's "Concerto in D Minor."
To-morrow Mr. Harry Brusey will bo at the organ at the midday recital. Another concert of chamber, music will be given in the Blue Triangle Hall during the afternoon, and in the evening in the Town Hall there will be an orchestral and choral concert which should prove to be one of the most popular entertainments of the week.
