FATAL LORRY ACCIDENT

WOODVILLE, 26th July. J. Mitchell died of injuries received in a motor-lorry accident to-day.
The lorry was descending a hill on Saddle road with a load of firewood, when, it is believed, the brakes failed and it fell 50 or 60 feet clown a bank.
The driver, J. Burlace, of Woodvilie, escaped with minor injuries, but, Mr. Mitchell, who was an old-age pensioner, received severe injuries and died later, after being attended, by Dr. Mules. The accident occurred about 3.113 p.m.
The deceased was a married man with a family, the members of which are living in various parts of New Zealand.
