In the Police Court, Loo Sylvester Haniian was charged with escaping from lawful custody at Tokaanu in July, 1926. The police stated that tlio accused was serving .a. . sentence of eighteen months for safe-breaking when he escaped. He was arrested recently and tho Prisons Department asked that tho accused be remanded to Cliristchurch on iitli August. lie was remanded aeeordingly P
