THE WEATHER OUTLOOK
COOL AND CHANGEABLE
Only slight variation in barometric pressure has been recorded since Saturday. Bather low readings in places have marked several minor centres. Winds have been variable, and light to moderate, with westerlies to northerlies prevailing. Cloud has been much in evidence, and light rain has fallen, chiefly -in places with a westerly aspect. ! During last night, however, heavy rain fell in the Auckland province, and at 9 a.m. to-day it was still raining thbro and also about Foveaux Strait. Elsewhere this morning the weather was mainly fair. i Auckland's weather during the week-end was unsettled and showery, heavy rain setting in last night. On Saturday Wellington had a rather dull and cold day with light rain at night. After a dull morning on Sunday, the weather became more genial, and there was very little wind. Christchureh had a mild and sunny day on Saturday, but a fresh south-west •wind on Sunday resulted in cold and cloudy conditions. A fair to cloudy Saturday in Dunedin was followed by a fine Sunday. To-day's forecast is for freshening west to south-west winds. Cool and changeable weather is likely generally. Showers may be expected at times, more especially in districts with a westerly aspect, but rain is likely to be scattered and chiefly coastal.
