DAIRY MARKET REVIEW
Messrs. A. H. Tumbull report: .Butter-T----it is pleasing to.be able to record a steady but slow improvement in butter quotations throughout the 'month. Messrs. W. Weddel and Co., Ltd., advise that the market has advanced on account of small shipments from Siberia, which has caused Germany to buy. heavily all classes of Continental butters. Dry weather on the Continent is causing reduced consumption. Messrs. Weddel anticipate a firm market, with a possibility of a gradual advance in prices. Stocks in the United States, however, show a 'surplus of approximately 10,000 tons over stocks at the same time last year, whilst slocks in New Zealand at 30th June are also much heavier than at 30th"June; 1929. Although the warmer weather has stimulated consumption -to the United Kingdom, there is a lack of demand. 'Weddels do not- think that the cheese market is likely to advance greatly, owing to heavy production in Great Britain and in Canada. Latest cables advise that Canadian cheese i.<S being offered freely at 76s 6d for June shipment.
Messrs. A. S. Faterson and Co., Ltd., have _ received the following cable dated 10th instant from Messrs. J. and J. Lousdale and Co., Ltd., London:—Butter: Market quietly, steady, prices unchanged, Continental firmer tone. Cheese: Market dull owing to no demand. White 755, 765, coloured 81s, 82s.-
