OLD BOYS' ANNUAL DINNER

A most enjoyable function was the second annual dinner hold last' evening by the Wellington branch of the Waitaki' High. School Old Boys' Association (Incorporated).-, Dr. W.- J. 11. Hislojv presided, and the chief ,guest. of the Gvening was Mr. i l. Miluer, M.A., rector of , Waitaki. High "School, Many prominent old boys were .present, among them being Mr. E. XI. Dymock, who was a, pupil at Waitaki in the first years of tho school.

In replying to ...the toast of "Tho Masters,," Mr. Milner made some very interesting remarks about the school. Ho referred to the junior high school now being condultedat Waitaki, and outlined its objects. He was very pleased with the results; tho school was proving a. great success. Old boys would be.'interested to know that the first rcctbr of Waitaki, Mr. Harknoss, was now in. England, living a retired life.. In the course of other remarks, Mr. Milner; said that the school had been very for.tunatp in tho matter of gifts, and in this connection ho mentioneci the naviies of (Earl Jellieoe ;mcl Sir Lien el. Halsey; referring, particularly ;to thY presentation of teak from IT.M.S. Powerful for the Hall of Memories. ■' ' ..
