OLD BUILDING BURNT
BRIGADE'S STRENUOUS TIME

DTTNEDIN, This Day.
A serious firo in an old wooden building, formerly the Scotia Hotel, gave the brigade a strenuous half-hour last night.
Six occupants of the building had to bo removed by the brigade through a back window.
A firo on the same premises 35 years ago resulted in a. woman being burned to death.
Tho need for protection against fire loss is obvious. Consult tho Mercantile and General Insurance Co,, Ltd.—a Now Zealand owned company—Panama street, Wellington. Prompt settlement. —Advt. . ':
