THE PROPOSED A^IEXDMENT
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ' AUCKLAND, This Day. ,
The Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, Minister of Health, in' an interview on his arrival to-day, said ho was unablo to say dofinitely whether an amendment to the Nurses and Midwivcs Eegistration'j Act would be introduced next session. If it was, all tho interests of 'the Trained Nurses' Association would be'| specifically safeguarded beyond a shadow of doubt. At present there was not one private hospital that could secure the approval of the Registration Board as a training centro for nurses, but some voluntary organisation were willing to spend large sums to qualify their hospitals for consideration. In such an eveut corresponding relief would be given to the public hospitals and tho taxpayers.
