Mary Swainsou, who carried'on the school after her, also of.Miss:Baber (the present principal), who, re-established tho school as "Mnrsden.-". ]«_ now' and will be operi'dd by- His Kxcellcncy tho Govefnor-Genera!, Lord Bludisloo, .and Lady. Tho iW.iini'part of. the money' necessary ,for the building', tlio fomitlation-Atone,oi" which- was laid by the .Bishop, of r(.'llivigv tou lust N'tivember, has been raised .by old pupils of the school and menibors .of the Parents' Association.- The hall is a very fine,one, with.,a-permanent strtgc, groeri rooms, and; a. gallery, and will .hold, be-tween-six nhd.'Bcvcri hundred people. • Another story lias, recently -been built on the school, comprising-four class-rooms,. a lecttire-room, studio,, and dark room, and this will also be declared open on Monday; and a tablet unveiled in the-hall to. the memory of Miss Beatrice Richmond, who was connected with ; the school in its earlier; days. .'•■Tha tablet Was engraved by tho school art mistress. : ■ ' ■ Tho completion of. the Pounders' Hall will bo good news' to all conected with Marsden School, and a very # large attend:1 ance is expected at the opening ceremony.
