London to-day states that Mr. Charles Wilson, of the Australian Dairy ."Produee Board, during a visit to the North of England, found all multiple shops selling Danish, New Zealand, and a limited* quantity of Australian at Is 3d a pound, without any strong demand. Cable information received m Wellington on Saturday was to the effect that New Zealand cheese was still retailing in England at lid per pound. These prices are lower than those for New Zealand produce in the Dominion itself. Farmers on Tour, A large party of Canterbury farmers left Auckland by tho Aorangi this afternoon for Australia, where they will spend six weeks studying farming conditions. The party arrived in Wellington from Christchurch yesterday, morning, and left in the evening for Auckland. A Compliment to Christcliurcli. "I feel rather nervous coming to Christchureh to talk to the1 Canterbury Chamber of Commerce," confessed His Majesty's Trade Commissioner in New Zealand (Mr. L. A. Paish) at a luncheon on Thursday. "I have had the opportunity of reading your economic bulletins, and I feel that you have reached such a high calibre that it would be almost superfluous for me to come here and teach you something. Of all tho cities I have visited in New Zealand, I suppose Christchurch has the most economic knowledge and the most economic ability." The chamber greatly appreciated this compliment, said Mr. A. M. Burns, in moving a vote of thanks to Mr. Paish. The Commissioner's high opinion of its bulletins was only in keeping with the worldwide reputation which they were building up. _______«___—
