SYNOPSIS OF LAST 48 HOURS.
Strong southerly winds anil cold changeable weather prevailed during Saturday, with occasional rain at places, more especially in eastern districts. By Sunday an anti-cyclone had advanced on to the. Dominion, and has since been crossing northern New Zealand. ' Some scattered showers have fallen In the northern and western districts, but since Sunday morning the eastern districts have experienced fair weather, and generally the winds have beon light to moderate, and have gradually lender! westerly or northerly. Barometers are now falling in tJio south with the approach of v low-pressure wave from the • Southern Tasmau Sea. Temperatures hare become milder, but many frosts occurred last night1 in the South Island. "
