FIRES
OUTBREAK AT WAIHI

WAIHI, This Day
A fire which occurred at i) o'clock last evening partially gutted premises in llosemont road, occupied by I<\ Timanus and Co., ironmongers, H. Carbutt, grocer, and E. Toomey, bootmaker. Splendid work by tho fire brigade prevented the fire spreading to adjoining shop buildings owned by the H. Berridge estate. The affected buildings were insured in the New Zealand Office for £500; Timanus and Co. 's stock was insured for £.1000, Carbutt's for £200, and Toomey 's for £.250, all with the New Zealand Insurance Co.
