AMERICAN LOAN OFFER TO JAPAN.
Private cable advice has been received in Melbourne that the New. York firm of financiers J. P. Morgan and Co. has ottered to the Japanese Government a loan of 50,000,000 dollars (£10,000,000). Interest is 5% per cent., *and the issue price to J. P. Morgan and Co. 90 per cent., the loan to have a currency of 35 years. It i« stated that the offer has been well received by Japan. The terms would yield the lender £6 4s Id per cent., including redemption. .
