ART UNION WANTED
MAELBOKOUGE AERO CLUB
A deputation from the Marlborough Aero Club asked the Minister of Internal Affairs to-day to grant a permit enabling the club to conduct an art union for the purpose of raising funds for the development of the aerodrome.
It was pointed out to the Minister that by reason of its geographical position the club was at present maintaining the aerodrome for the benefit of visitors by air from all parts of the Dominion, and that more visiting machines landed at the Marlborough ground than at any other airport in New Zealand. Moreover, they were maintaining the largest landing ground in the country. Mention was also made of the potential value of the ground in tho event of defence necessity.
The Minister (the Hon. P. A. do la Perrclle)said that the application would receive consideration as other permits wore disposed of.
