COMMERCIAL LIBRARY
BUSINESS HEN'S INTEREST A commercial section of the Wellington Central Library, suggested by the Chief Librarian (Mr. J. Norris) last year, may now go ahead, for the full amount of financial assistance which was sought from business men. firms, and associations lias been subscribed. The aim was for £250, and actually £260 has been promised, as well .as a number of reference volumes and other publications suitable for the shelves of this section. The council will subsidise the amount as required, and, though the commercial branch may be a year or two in working up, it _ will offer real possibilities and opportunities to students ' in various branches of commercial .work.
It is expected that there will be a satisfactory response once the section is established to the suggestion that business men and firms should place on the shelves volumes and periodicals which would be a considerable value to commercial men generally, whereas at present little or House is made of them. The section will be located in what is at present a stackroom, to the left of the first floor landing.
