THE OAKS WON BY ROSE OF ENGLAND. (Beeeived 7th June, 11.15 a.m.) LONDON, 6th June. Following is the result of the OAKS STAKES, a sweepstakes of 100 sovs with 2000 sovs added. For three-year-old fillies; 9 stone; about ono mile and a half. Lord Glancly's br f Eose of England, by Teddy—Perce-Neigo .. 1 Lord Howard de Walden's b f Wedding Favour, by Son-in-law— Bed Eosette 3 Lord Beaverbrook's b £ Mic Mac, by Sansovino—Celiba 3 Thero were fifteen starters. Won by three lengths, with two lengths between second and third. Kose of England's owner, Lord Glanely, has spent, a fortune in horseflesh and has not been one of Fortune's' favourites. The Oaks winner's pedigree shows that she was bred in Franco and the records show that she did not race in England ' last season, if she raced at all. Both Wedding Favour and Mic Mac were not raced as two-year-olds, but it is noticed that both.ran unplaced in the Wood' Ditton Stakos, ono mile, at the Newmarket Meeting in April. It is fairly safe to- say that Eose of England's success woui-3 be something .of a surprise.
