John Brown and Company, of Clydebank, have secured an order for the construction of a new Cunarder, to cost six millions sterling, fov tho express

service between Channel ports and New York.

Tho construction will provide employment for thousands of men and take at least three years. The engines will be of 600,000 (?) horse-power, the overall length 1000 feet. The liner will take 4000. passengers and a crew of 800. v
