BAND CONTEST
TO BE HELD IN WELLINGTON
On the recommendation of the Wellington Band Contest Committee, the North Island Brass Bands'. Association has. appointed ■ Mr. ■J. J. Kelly, of Hamilton, ■Sydney>.-to ■ be-the adjudicator at-the anmial band contest:to be held in Welling, ton in February next. Mr. E. Palliser, Wellington, will* be the supervisor.
Mr. Kelly is well known throughout Australia and New "Zealand as' a' conductor and adiudicatoiy aud was-'success-* ful early this yearl in the competition for the Australian championship for first-class bands..; . , : v ' ~*,* .;. .
No decision, has yet been readied- as to where the open-air events are to,take place, but-it is likely to be at Athletic Park, where previous contests were heldl The Wellington Band Contest Committee is an incorporated body of many years' standing, and as it has substantial funds, it will not eall'.on the public for>financial assistance.
