ROAD REPAIRS IN THE CITY.— The Cily Council's road staff is at present repairing Customhouse quay, which is tvood-paved, a special machine being used to remove the old tarred surface before the blocks are again tarred and sanded. The machine used is a _ "Bauke Heater" and works on the principle of a painter's blow-lamp.
