CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB

The annual 'meeting of the Canterbury Jockey Club was held to-day. There was. much interest in the election of the com mittee, as a ticket of new members was proposed, being supported on the ground, as alleged, that the club needed new blood in its councils. However, only two members of committee—Sir Charles Clifford and Mr. A. T. Donnelly—were elected. The officers elected are:—Chairman, Mr H. A. Knight; treasurer, Mr. G. Gould; stewards', Messrs. L. G. D. Acland, J. S. Barrett, M. Bethell, A. T. Donnelly, A. S. Elworthy, G. Fultqn, 11. A. Knisht, G N. M'Lean, G. L, Rutherford, E. C. Studholme, D. W. Westenra, Sir Hcaton "Rhodes; committee, Messrs. L. G. D. Acland, J. S. Barrett, W. L. Clifford, W. Deans, A. T. Donnelly, A. &. Elworthy. G. Fulton, H. A. Knight, R. M. D. Morten, G-.-K. M'Lesm, G. L..Rutherford, and Sir Charles Clifford.
