FIRE IN UPPER HUTT

A four-roomed house in Martin street, Upper Hutt, owned by Mr. F. O'Leary, and occupied by Mr. 6. Branz, was completely gutted by fire at 3.30 a.m. yesterday. Tho cause of the firo is unknown, but it is believed to have originated in the kitchen. Most of the furniture and some personal effects were saved. The building is insured in tho Commercial Union Offico for £500, and the furniture was uninsured- The promptness of the Upper Hutt Fire Brigade resulted in them making a good save of the adjoining houses.
