OFFICIAL STATEMENT

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ROTORUA, This Day. An official communication issued today states that Sir Joseph Ward.is now seriously ill. Before the recent Cabinet meeting Sir Joseph's medical adviser was very concerned about the marked change in his health. With the release from the heavy burdens of office, it was hoped that Sir Joseph's health would have shown an improvement, but, unfortunately, this has not taken place. At present Sir Joseph Ward's condition is serious.
