RACIAL ANIMOSITIES MURDER AND MASSACRE United Press Association—By Electric eraph—Copyright(Received 29th May, 10 a.m.) DELHI, 28th May. ; Although the situation has improved, Rangoon is isolated, and the assaults continue Four thousand Indians and their families have been 'removed for safety from the Burmese quarter of the city. A gang of Burmans, threatening to attack Indians yesterday, refused to lay down their arms when, challenged by ■ the police, who fired, killing ten. Later the Indians combined against the Burmans; The latter thereupon start-j ed looting Indian shops and massacring l women and children. The Indians retalia^ed, massacring Burmese families in other parts of the city. Ghastly murders were enacted, members of both communities being disembowelled and their limbs hacked off with daggers and hatchets. The Burmans then set fire to Indian quarters, killing the occupants as they ran from the blazing buildings.
