The Wellington Caledonian Society:held Its eleventh annual general meeting in jikne Caledonian Hall, Sturdee street, last' evening. Mr. R. H. Nimmo; presided.-- ■ An* apology for absence was receded from 'iCaptain C. M'Arthur, one-: of-the honorary life chieftains, who,., the chairnan stated, had not missed an annual meeting of the society for many years. • Tbe.adoption;of the report'and balancesheet, extracts from-which have 'already been published, was moved by Mr; Nimmo, who eulogised the unselfish .sind untiring efforts of the members of tha social committee. To them was principally due the credit for the society's sounef^financial" position. Mr. Nimmo referred; to the broadcasting of the concerts .on St. Andrew's Day ,and- Burns's ' Night, ', and said., that it was very ... gratifying; to' the directors.to know that the concerts had given genuine_ pleasure to Scots'throughout the.'Dominion. Literallyihundreds,-of congratulatory letters had 'been received frorn^ all parts of the country. ' • Tfie'resignation, owing to pressure of business, of Mr. H. S.
